NSFAS-Funded students who qualify to receive allowances directly from NSFAS will receive cash funds in their NSFAS Wallets.
Your NSFAS Wallet will allow you to withdraw cash or spend at any merchant registered by NSFAS. Allowance amounts are determined through consultation with institutions, communicated to NSFAS when you register.
Are you trying to access your allowances but you are getting a message that there’s something wrong with your account and you need to reset it?
For this you will need to provide a copy of your ID along with your cellphone number and email address.
Here’s how to rest your NSFAS Wallet account:
- Log on to your myNSFAS account by going to nsfas.org.za
- Click myNSFAS
- Log into your account
- Click NSFAS Chat
- Now you will be able to talk to a consultant
- You then will say that you want to reset your NSFAS Wallet account
NW1@nsfas.org.za and NSFAS Connect no longer works and NSFAS now encourages you to use NSFAS Chat. This is said to simplify your customer service experience and is available for all NSFAS Wallet reset requests.
For any other NSFAS Wallet questions, you can send an email to walletquery@nsfas.org.za and be sure to provide the following information in your email:
- Your ID number
- Your full names and surname
- Your cellphone number and email address
- Your physical and/or postal address
- Full description of your query
